School Safety is an integral and important component of Disaster Risk Management . Structural and Non Structural safety of educational institutions particularly schools play important role. Building safe schools ensure the safety of children in disasters and promote faster rehabilitation post-disaster. It seeks to support disaster risk management by delivering adequate school safety planning and implementing training interventions. 

Disaster generally impacts everyone, but school children are considered the most vulnerable group. The participants of this module learn about the impacts of disasters on schools (structural aspects) and school children, teachers and staffs (non structural) It instructs the concept of school safety, methods involved in the preparation of school disaster management plans, and various other concepts.
