Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) course aims to introduce about the key concepts and terminologies of community-based disaster management that guides participants through various categories of risks. Communities possess robust knowledge and understanding in identifying, experiencing, and managing disaster risks they face. Harnessing this prospect is at the core of Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM). This approach examines the possibilities of minimizing vulnerabilities and disaster risks in society to contain or mitigate the adverse consequences of hazards. The main objective of this module is to clarify the basic concept of CBDRM approaches and examine the new practices. 

The next part of the course covers the essential tools for implementing various stages in CBDRM and looks at strengthening community participation during different types of disasters. Successful completion of this course allows participants to learn about CBDRM approaches at the grass-root level.
